God’s Word is full of promises of encouragement, and that includes verses for the discouraged homeschool mom. Anyone who gets into homeschooling because they think it will be easier is bound to have a wake-up call at some point. I have faced discouragement MANY times over the last 31 years of homeschooling our eight children. Homeschooling is HARD, and discouragement is common. It’s important to know how to encourage yourself when you are going through a hard time.
These 12 verses were my lifeline of encouragement during those difficult times. I printed them and kept them in a few spots where I would see them often. God’s Word brings comfort and encouragement like nothing else can!
12 Verses For The Discouraged Homeschool Mom
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

Sarah, I think remembering that and WAITING for the reaping is one of the hardest parts of parenting and homeschooling. It’s so hard to wait for those results, isn’t it?!
My favorite passage of the ones you shared is, Galatians 6:9 – And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. It is important to remember that often the well doing and the reaping are in different seasons.
