One of the questions that I get asked frequently at conferences is “What do you suggest I use to teach my kids about sex?” The other common question is, “WHEN should I talk to my kids about sex?”
I see two common things when talking to parents about this topic:
They are afraid of talking to their kids TOO soon about sex.
Talking to their kids about sex make them nervous.
It is important to realize that it is your responsibility to talk Biblically to your kids about sex! Your silence on the topic open many doors of danger and temptation to your kids.
Consider this: everyone and everything else in the world is talking to your kids about sex–except you, the parent.
The word, the media, the Internet, their friends, their teachers, their driving instructors…..And the things they are being told are simply wrong and wicked. The enemy’s strategy is to awaken your child early, misinform them, enlarge their desires, pervert them, and then lead them into sexual sin before they know what’s happened. You can be sure he has a target on their back, and the center of the target is their sexual purity! (Passionate Parenting by Cary Schmidt)
