5 Fun And Easy Thanksgiving Crafts For Kids

1. Crafty Fall Pumpkins

Easy Fall and THanksgiving crafts for Kids

This is a good one for older kids and young, alike. And best of all, it has an incredibly small supply list:

  • 1 roll of toilet paper
  • 1 fabric fat quarter in a fun, fall print
  •  Wired ribbon.

Open up the fat quarter, and lay it down. Help your child center the roll of toilet paper on top, and then help them slowly start folding the fabric up and over the toilet paper, stuffing the ends into the center of the roll. You may need to adjust the fabric a bit to get it just how you want it. Lastly, cut a piece of ribbon, fold it in half, and place it in the center of the roll for a stem!

Fat quarters are pre-cut pieces of cotton fabric. They are taken from one yard of fabric, cut in half lengthwise, and then in half width-wise. The dimensions are approximately 18″ x 22″ (46cm x 56cm). A normal quarter yard cut from a bolt would measure 44″ x 9″ (112cm x 23cm).

2. Thankful Leaf Wreath Craft for Families

For this craft, you can either hand draw and cut out your own colorful set of leaves, or head to the craft store and pick up a package of craft leaves.

Begin by having your kiddo assemble and glue the leaves into a circle shape to make a wreath. Poke a couple of holes in the top leaves, and string some raffia or a festive printed ribbon as a hanger.

Each day get the wreath down and help your kiddo write down something that they are thankful for!

3. Personalized Autumn Tree Canvas Art

Start by painting your child’s palm and arms brown. Then “stamp” it onto the center of a blank canvas, and allow them to go wash up.

Afterward, it is up to your little one to add colorful leaves to the branches (fingers). Possible ideas are using cotton swabs, paintbrushes, or their thumbs, dipped in oranges, reds, yellows, browns, and even a little bit of green.

4. Turkey Bookmark Kids Craft Project

Everyone needs a bookmark for those chapters they just cannot finish. Help your little love make turkey bookmarks with popsicle sticks, feathers, a little bit of construction paper, and googly eyes.

Simply cut a round face out of brown construction paper (if you happen to have a brown chocolate milk cap handy, this would work even better!), and glue it to the top of a wide popsicle stick.

Then add a small yellow triangle for the beak, a little red wattle (let your little one practice their cutting skills here!), and then help your child glue feathers of various fall colors behind the turkey’s face. Voila!

5. Thanksgiving Pumpkin Stamps

Fall is the perfect time of year for apples and pumpkins! Make your own pumpkin stamps by cutting an apple in half, at the core. Then let your little one dip the cut side into orange paint, and stamp away to their heart’s desire. Afterward, add green and brown stems with paint or markers, and maybe even give them jack o lantern faces.

I hope you enjoy this list of my 5 favorite Thanksgiving crafts for kids! I’m sure you and your family will put your own spin on these and make some really fun projects!

I’d love to see what you make, reply in the comments with a picture of the finished products your kids create!
