Since this is Mother’s Day weekend, I thought it would be good for us to remember the profound influence we have as mothers! Sometimes we get so caught up in the everyday, mundane duties of caring for our children and our home, that we FORGET that what we are doing is of eternal value. We get to shape and mold our children to have a heart for God. What an amazing opportunity and responsibility we have!
I’m going to share some quotes from well-known people who recognized and acknowledged the impact of their mother’s influence, or the powerful influence of moms in general.
Henry Ward Beecher
The mother’s heart is the child’s school-room.
Abraham Lincoln
“I remember my mother’s prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life. All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.”
George Washington
“My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Men are what their mothers made them.”
Billy Graham
“Only God Himself fully appreciates the influence of a Christian mother in the molding of character in her children.”
George Herbert
“One good mother is worth a hundred schoolmasters.”
Author Unknown
“The formative period for building character for eternity is in the nursery. The mother is queen of that realm and sways a scepter more potent than that of kings or priests.”
Moms, NEVER forget how important your teaching, training, prayers, and example are as you raise your kids! Your influence makes a difference! Have a happy Mother’s Day!
