Welcome to the 2014 Ultimate Blog Party at The Character Corner! This annual event is hosted by 5 Minutes For Mom. The purpose of this party is to welcome and introduce friends, old and new, to my blog. I’m excited to make and meet some new friends!
Welcome to The Character Corner– an inspirational blog filled with resources to help you train your kids in character and purity.
My name is Kathie, mom of 8, grandmother to 4, speaker, author, and veteran homeschooling mom of 29 years. I am passionate about purposeful parenting, and love to write about parenting, homeschooling, what the Lord is teaching me, and life in general. My heart’s desire is to help and encourage parents to be intentional in their parenting, and strive to raise Godly children with strong Christian character.
My husband and I have been married for 35 years, and are nearing the end of our homeschooling journey. Our oldest 7 kids have graduated, and our youngest son will soon be finishing his junior year of high school. Four of our kids are married, and our oldest son & his wife are missionaries in the Philippines. To learn a little bit more about our family and our ministry check out: ABOUT US.
I’m delighted you’re here and I hope you’ll take the time to look around and make yourself at home! My prayer is that you will be blessed by the things that I share.
Thanks for stopping in. I enjoy making new friends, and would love to connect with you on Facebook and Pinterest. I look forward to talking with you!

Kerry, thank so much for stopping in from the UBP! How exciting to meet someone who has a relative that has been a missionary in the Philippines — and for a LONG time! Do you know where he served in the Philippines? It’s such an open field, and it’s very exciting to see and hear how God is using my son & his wife as they serve there.
Since you’re done with your homeschooling, I’m sure you’ve got some wisdom to share from your experience. I’m going to check out your blog! 🙂
Nice to “meet you”!
Stopping by from UBP…I enjoyed reading about you. My uncle has been a missionary for 60 years, about 40 of them in the Philippines.
I’m finished homeschooling, but still enjoy visiting with homeschool moms. Let me know if I can help you in any way.
Hi Lynn! Thanks for stopping in. First graduate – nice (but sad) feeling, isn’t it?! I’m going to check out your blog. Nice meeting you! -Kathie
I love coming across other homeschool bloggers. I’m stopping by from the UBP2014. We’ve been homeschooling 10+ years now. One graduated last year, another a freshman in high school and a 6th grader. Still have a few more years left to discover my children.. Looking forward to looking through your blog.. Many Blessings <
Ginger, thanks for visiting! Hopping over to see your blog right now. 🙂
Enjoyed visiting today from #ubp2014. Blessings in all your blogging!
